It’s been a long time coming since the Contreras Fire in June of 2022.  MDM Observatory is finally back online, allowing full operations, local AND remote to resume again.  

The road to the summit of Kitt Peak, as well as the SW Ridge, remains locked at the base and closed to the public.  This is due to work being performed to replace all the damaged guard rails since the occurrence of the fire.  Regardless, all visitors and staff are cleared to travel the road, with some simple restrictions still in place.  For furter details, contact the Site Manager.
